Starting Over…

Wow, it truly feels like ages since I’ve posted. There were a lot of things going on and I really just got burnt out trying to do too much. So, I stepped away, from blogging and even couponing. I really needed to get my priorities in order. Things are still a bit crazy but I’m hoping to start back the blog full time this summer! Yay! But, it will not be as much as it was. I just don’t have the time (or the nerves!) to be on here all day posting while trying to keep up the house and make sure my two destructive wonderful children don’t bring the roof down on our heads!

So, please keep your eyes open for upcoming posts to start slowly over the next few weeks. Thank you for all your support and love. I’ve missed all of you so much!

A Little Update…

Hey everyone! I hope you’re having a great Friday afternoon.

I just wanted to apologize for the lack of posts this week. As I stated on Facebook, I’ve been really trying to get my daughter potty trained (oh the joys of potty training and cleaning it up!) and have just been staying away from the computer. During this time I’ve had time to reflect on the last six months that we’ve been up and going and how it’s changed. I started this blog as a means to share couponing, my experiences and how God has used both to bless me and my family, with people. Over time, it’s become about getting the most posts up. In the end, I’ve become burnt out and resentful of it.

Don’t get me wrong, I love posting these awesome deals and hearing about the deals you all find, but I’m not so thrilled with how it’s taken over my life. I think I had become obsessed with keeping up with the Jone’s (aka the big girl couponing blogs) and making sure I got every freebie and great deal up and posted for all to see. But truthfully, I don’t have the time or means to keep up that pace. It’s not a competition…but a big community working together.

So, here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to continue to blog but it’s not going to be so many posts. It may even go a day or so without a post. *Insert Gasps* Lol. I’ll post the deals I think are the best for the weekly ads and any deals or freebies I come across daily. I’ll also be posting more about my own trips and ups and downs on my couponing journey. I want it to be more relaxed and be able to have time to do the things I want to do. Such as keeping up my house, which by the way was getting pretty nasty by the end of it, and spending more time with my kids and hubby.

Thanks for understanding. I know I may lose a few “fans” by not being OCD on freebies but I have to do what’s best for me and my family. I need more glorifying God then I do glorifying Groupons.com! lol

Check Out the New Coupon Chic!!

 

Yay! The new Coupon Chic layout is finally finished!! With new cooler colors and better layout, it’s much better than anything I was able to come up with.

Be sure to check out the new Navigation bar. It has drop down menus to make it easier to find your weekly ads, store specific posts and all the good freebies we’ve been able to round up. I think it might be my favorite part! lol

I want to give a HUGE thank you to Jessica over at So Stylilized for doing such a great job. If any of you have a blog you would like anything from a banner, favicon, button or whole page makeover, be sure to them out. At the moment, they don’t charge anything but a tip for the designers time. And as you can see they do a great job and are pretty quick.

Ok…I’m so excited that I can’t wait till Tuesday when the page will be loaded up. Its not a big change but it’s so much nicer and cleaner than I was able to come up with on my limited Blogger design knowledge.  So here’s a tiny sneak peak…please let me know what ya’ll think!

Well, I can’t believe it’s already 4 days til Christmas! The time has flown by this year and especially since The Coupon Chic opened in October. I wanted to thank you all for making these first few months wonderful and supporting me.

For the rest of the week til next Monday I’ll be shutting down to be able to spend some much needed time with my kids while my son’s out of school and be able to relax before the madness starts Friday. I’ll still post if I see anything while I check my mail but for the most part there wont be many at all this week.

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and some great shopping on Thursday. I’ve had family from out of town all weekend so I stayed away from the computer. But last night ended up going to bed early pretty sick and still not feeling all that well this morning. So I’m going to be lounging out on the couch most of the day with my daughter, who’s also sick. Just keep our family in your thoughts and prayers and HOPEFULLY, we’ll be up and ready to go tomorrow.

Facebook Fans

Halloween Candy Buy Back Program

So, your kids go out and get a TON of candy on Halloween. What happens to it? I know for us, I just last week had to throw away a 1 gallon bag of candy in trash from last years adventure! They eat all the ones they like and the rest just get forgotten. Well, not this year! There’s a program called the Halloween Candy Buy Back where you can take your candy to participating Dentist’s Offices and they’ll pay you $1 per pound. They then send the candy to Operation Gratitude or other Military Support groups that send the candy to U.S. Military deployed overseas!
